EXPERIENCE

Petra is a seasoned fashion industry professional with extensive experience across global brands. She earned her degree in Fashion Design from the University of Applied Sciences for Design in Bielefeld, Germany, holding the equivalent of a Master’s in Fashion Design.

Her career includes key roles and consulting work with leading companies such as Nike, Oakley, ALO Yoga, Bella Luxx, Calvin Klein Performance, The Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, Fila Sport, Hanes Brands (Champion + C9), and Haddad Brands (Nike, Nike SB, Jordan, Converse, and Levi’s). Most recently, she contributed to the repositioning and elevation of Spyder Sportswear for both Men’s and Women’s collections.

Petra has redefined brands, launched new collections, revitalized product categories, and built brands from the ground up. She develops brand concepts for celebrities and athletes, designing collections that encompass merchandising strategy, color direction, style design, fabrication, branding, trim, and fit.

With expertise in crafting clear product stories—from creative concept and storytelling to design and execution—Petra brings a holistic vision to every project.

Based in New York City, she continues to either work in a full-time capacity or consults for established brands and emerging start-ups.

BUSINESS NUMBERS

Petra has a proven track record of driving both creative excellence and business growth.

At Calvin Klein Performance (Women’s), as Design Lead, her logo collection was selected by Macy’s for placement in the prestigious “Sub Zero” department—marking the brand’s debut among the retailer’s trend-leading labels.

During her tenure as Global Creative Director at Oakley (Apparel, Footwear & Accessories), revenue grew from $239M in 2010 to a forecasted $515M in 2015.

As Creative Director at ALO YOGA, her collections increased sales from $4.4M in 2009 to $10.4M in 2010.

At Nike, serving as Senior Designer, her outerwear designs helped grow U.S. Outerwear revenue from $20.2M in 2005 to $33.9M in 2007 (wholesale). Her Global Core Outerwear line, launched in 2007, achieved $63.4M in bookings.

At Gap, as Design Director for Men’s Outerwear, her designs drove retail sales from $43M in 1997 to $120M in 2000. In Men’s Active, her designs boosted sales from $97M in 1996 to $150M in 1998. Across categories, Petra’s designs consistently ranked among the top 10 best-sellers both nationally and internationally.
